Top Home Design Inspiration Blogs for Your Next Project
Updated: Aug 12
When it comes to refreshing your home, the right inspiration can make all the difference.
I know how overwhelming it can feel when you have dozens of ideas saved, a Pinterest board full of beautiful rooms and absolutely no idea how to pull everything together in your own home.

That is exactly why I created the CrysB Interior Studio blog.
This is where I share practical design advice, colour inspiration, room ideas, styling tips and simple ways to make your home feel more beautiful, functional and personal — without making the whole process feel complicated.
Whether you're planning a full renovation, updating one room or simply trying to figure out why a space doesn't quite feel right, my aim is to give you ideas that are inspiring and realistic.
Inspiration Is Great — But It Needs to Work in Your Home
We are surrounded by beautiful interiors online.
The problem is that a gorgeous photograph doesn't necessarily tell you:
Whether that sofa will fit in your room
What size rug you actually need
How high your artwork should hang
Whether those colours will work with your natural light
How much space you need between furniture
Which pieces are worth investing in
Or how to make everything work together
Good interior design is about so much more than choosing beautiful things.
It is about creating a space that works for your lifestyle, your family and the way you use your home every day.
That is the kind of design advice I want to share here.
What You'll Find on the CrysB Interior Studio Blog

Colour & Paint Inspiration
Colour can completely change the feeling of a room — but choosing the right shade isn't always as simple as picking something you like on a colour card.
I'll share ideas on current colour trends, timeless palettes, warm versus cool tones and how different colours can work together throughout a home.
More importantly, we'll look at how to use colour in a way that still feels like you, rather than simply following a trend.
Space Planning & Furniture Layouts
This is one of the most important parts of interior design.
You can have beautiful furniture, but if the scale or placement is wrong, the room will never feel completely comfortable.
I'll share practical advice on:
Furniture placement
Creating good traffic flow
Sofa and coffee-table proportions
Rug sizes
Bedroom layouts
Dining-room spacing
Creating conversation areas
Making smaller rooms work harder
Sometimes a room doesn't need more furniture — it simply needs a better layout.
Styling Your Home
Styling is where a room starts feeling finished.
Artwork, cushions, throws, lamps, greenery, books and accessories all bring personality into a space, but too much can quickly make a room feel cluttered.
I'll show you how to layer pieces, mix textures and create displays that feel relaxed and collected rather than overly staged.
Bedrooms, Living Rooms & Everyday Spaces
Not every design project needs to be a major renovation.
Sometimes changing a few key elements can completely transform a room.
We'll look at individual spaces throughout the home and chat about the things that really make them work — from bedside lighting and plug points in a guest bedroom to furniture heights, storage and comfortable seating in a living room.
Design Trends — Without Losing Your Own Style
I love looking at new interior trends, but I don't believe your entire home should change every time a new colour or design style becomes fashionable.
Instead, I'll share the trends that are worth considering and show you how they can be introduced in smaller, more timeless ways.
The goal is a home that feels current without becoming dated overnight.
Start With a Mood Board
If you're planning a room, one of the easiest places to begin is with a mood board.
Save images that immediately catch your eye.
Don't analyse them too much at first — just collect what you love.
Then start looking for similarities.
Are you repeatedly saving:
Warm timber?
Soft neutral sofas?
Deep blue accents?
Natural linen?
Black-framed artwork?
Textured walls?
Greenery?
Often your style starts revealing itself without you even realising it.
From there, you can begin creating a more focused colour palette and design direction.
Don't Try to Do Everything at Once
This is probably one of the most important pieces of advice I can give.
You do not need to finish your whole house immediately.
Start with one room.
Or even one corner.
Get the layout right first, then work through the larger furniture pieces, lighting, rugs, artwork and finally the decorative layers.
A home that develops slowly over time often feels far more personal than one where everything was purchased in one weekend.
And Please… Measure Before You Buy!
A sofa may look perfect online and still completely overwhelm your living room.
The same goes for coffee tables, rugs, dining tables, headboards and artwork.
Before purchasing anything, check the dimensions and physically measure them out in the room.
A few minutes with a measuring tape can save a very expensive mistake.
When Inspiration Becomes Overwhelming
Sometimes the problem isn't that you don't have enough ideas.
It's that you have too many.
You might love several different styles, have furniture you want to keep and still be unsure how everything should come together.
That is where virtual interior design can be incredibly helpful.
At CrysB Interior Studio, I can take your room measurements, photographs, existing furniture and inspiration and turn them into a clear design direction.
Using Coohom, I can create realistic 3D visualisations that allow you to actually see how the proposed room could look before you start purchasing furniture or making permanent changes.
It takes the guesswork out of the process and gives you a plan to work towards.
Creating a Home That Feels Like You
The most beautiful homes aren't necessarily the ones filled with the most expensive furniture.
They're the ones where everything feels considered.
Where there is somewhere comfortable to sit.
Where the lighting feels right.
Where the furniture fits the room.
Where favourite pieces have a place.
And where the person living there walks in and thinks:
Yes. This feels like home.
That is ultimately what good interior design should achieve.
So have a browse through the CrysB Interior Studio blog, save the ideas that inspire you and come back whenever you're planning your next room.
And if you reach the point where you have all the inspiration but still aren't quite sure how to put it together, that's where I can help.
